Meet Anthony

Anthony DiLorenzo is a proud father, entrepreneur, and community leader with deep roots in New Hampshire and a family story rooted in the American Dream.

His great-grandparents came to America through Ellis Island around 1910 and settled in Harlem. They worked hard, learned English, and built a life from scratch. His great-grandfather Joe and other relatives worked for the National Biscuit Company and eventually bought a small tenement house where the extended family gathered for Sunday dinners. Money was tight, but there was always love, security, and togetherness. Born in 1964, Anthony’s early years taught him to respect hard work, honor family obligations, and believe deeply that America is the land of opportunity for those willing to earn it.
That work ethic started early. At just eight years old, Anthony delivered newspapers in Ohio, working only for tips. As a teenager, he worked as a dishwasher, line cook, and waiter to help support himself. From a young age, he understood the dignity of work and the responsibility that comes with earning your own way.

Building Businesses, Creating Jobs

Anthony first came to New Hampshire in 1983 to attend the University of New Hampshire. What began as a college decision became a lifelong commitment. For more than 40 years, he has called New Hampshire home, planting roots, building a business, raising a family, and investing in the communities that gave him opportunity.
In 1989, with just $7,000 in cash and a $5,000 credit card line, Anthony started his own business. Two years later, he purchased Wakefield Street Motors in Rochester. By 1995, he built and opened the Key Auto Center of Somersworth, and in 1997, he purchased Portsmouth Chevrolet. Through discipline, perseverance, and smart decision-making, he grew that effort into one of New Hampshire’s leading automotive and service businesses. Today, he oversees more than 20 car dealerships and 11 collision centers, employing a thousand people.

Giving Back and Philanthropy

His success has always come with a commitment to giving back. Anthony supports organizations including Cross Roads, the Scars Foundation, Prescott Park, the NH Film Festival, The Music Hall, Waypoint, Gather, and initiatives throughout the City of Portsmouth. In 2023, he was instrumental in raising $20 million dollars for the renovation of the Key Auto Group Complex (including a $4 million lead gift) at the University of New Hampshire to upgrade the Whittemore Center and Hamel Recreation Center, a reflection of his belief in reinvesting in the next generation and strengthening the community that helped him succeed.

Protecting the American Dream

Anthony DiLorenzo has lived the American Dream. Now, as a Republican running for Congress, he is committed to protecting that opportunity for the next generation, bringing a strong work ethic, real-world experience, pragmatic business principles, and common sense to Washington on behalf of the people of New Hampshire’s First District.
